Cheat Sheet for Timing of Social Media Posting
Social Media is more important than ever to utilize as part of your marketing strategy. And I wish it was as easy as just getting online every once in a while and posting an image or a clever metaphor - but it isn’t. There are so many things to consider: what topics to cover, who is your audience, is your post captivating, etc. But just as important is when to post. This blog entry is to serve as a cheat sheet for posting on four major platforms: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn. It is a summary of what day of the week to post, what time of the day, how much text to include and what size image to include.
I won’t go into all the details behind the research - that information is covered here. However I did make a few minor adjustments from the research after doing this for a while and combining that research with a few other posts I read on the subject.
You should determine your own rhythm but our general rhythm is to post one new message a week across platforms utilizing the information in the table below. Your rhythm may depend on your audience. On top of that general rhythm, we typically add posts for holidays such as New Years, April Fools, Mother’s Day and Social Media Day among others.
